Google Developer’s old version account verification is nearing completion. For details about the old and new versions of the account, please refer to the article Google Play Developer System Major Updates: DUNS Number Verification and the Distinction between the Old and New Versions of the System. Most teams will not access their Google Play Console every day. Many teams will not log in to their accounts for half a year or a year to perform corresponding developer account maintenance. They will not realize that there is a problem until the account is removed due to policy reasons or policy implementation overdue.
In November and December 2024, Google made corresponding upgrades and made certain updates and adjustments to some common problems. Careful people will find this change. Google Play developer account verification is divided into multiple parts, not just the identity verification and real-name when registering an account. The following figure shows that the old version account needs to complete the new version verification. We followed the process instructions and completed the verification and passed the review. As shown in figure 1

After completing the identity verification (verification of developer account) process in the above figure, the removal prompt on the homepage is still there. However, the prompt reason for the problem has changed (verification of your merchant payment method), as shown in the following figure.

The merchant payment method is the “receiving bank account”, as shown in the following figure. Failure to receive test payment, failure to add payment methods, and failure to verify may all result in the removal of developer information and applications. Some developer accounts have not yet received this policy reminder, so they are temporarily safe.

After 2025, there will be more stringent policy restrictions. I can reveal one thing: some of the problems that can be tested and verified before June 2024 have been completely invalid or semi-invalid so far. Google Developer rules are always changing, and we are always committed to exploring the latest solutions.
