Needless to say, not all websites are created equal in the eyes of Google. Just like in the eyes of teachers, students should also be divided into excellent students and poor students.
Teachers judge the quality of students mainly by academic performance and social practice activities, so Google naturally has several clear indicators for judging the quality of websites.
Previously, most people used PageRank(PR), which can be translated as web page rank. This is one of the factors of Google’s ranking algorithm, which is used to identify and measure the level and importance of web pages.
The PR score ranges from 0 to 10, and the higher the PR score, the more popular and important the page is. However, due to the excessive abuse of PR, Google has stopped updating the PR value toolbar externally on December 6, 2013, and only keeps it for internal use.
Therefore, the Google PR value that can be found now is also outdated data, which is several years ago, and has little reference value; in addition, the Google PR value cannot be found for websites built after the PR toolbar has stopped updating, regardless of No matter how good the website is, the PR value is the same, 0~~
However, when God closes a door for us, he always leaves a few windows! We still have some indicators to judge the quality of the website.
The first type of indicators: DA and PA
The two indicators of DA and PA are proposed by the world famous SEO company MOZ (https://moz.com/). It is used to measure the ranking ability of a website or web page in the search engine results page (SERP).
(A brief introduction to MOZ company:
MOZ focuses on the development of SEO online software tools and online marketing, and can be said to be a leader in the SEO industry. There are tons of SEO research tools and SEO learning resources on the site.

DA:
What is DA?
DA is Domain Authority, which can be translated as the authority of domain name.
It is an indicator used to measure the authority of a website. The score ranges from 1 to 100, with the higher the DA score, the better the website’s ranking ability on SERPs.
(Note: DA is for the entire website, a website has a DA value)
How is the DA score determined?
MOZ rates a site’s DA from 1 to 100 based on the site’s popularity, total backlinks, total number of backlink source domains, MozRank, MozTrust score, etc.
Among them, it is much more difficult to increase the DA score from 70 to 80 than from 20 to 30.
PA:
What is PA?
PA is Page Authority, which can be translated as the authority of web pages.
It is an indicator used to measure the authority of a page. The score ranges from 1 to 100. The higher the PA score, the stronger the ranking ability of this page on SHRP, that is, the greater the chance of this page being displayed on the top of the search engine results page.
(Note: PA is for a single page, the same website, different pages have different PA values)
How are PA scores determined?
According to the index data of the page, including the number of incoming links, MozRank, MozTrust score and several other factors, MOZ evaluates the ranking ability of the page from 1 to 100 according to a certain algorithm.
Likewise, increasing a PA score from 70 to 80 is much harder than increasing it from 20 to 30.
The relationship between DA and PA:
① Difference: DA measures the ranking power of an entire domain, while PA measures the ranking power of a single page.
② DA and PA have a mutual influence relationship:
When the DA value of the website is high, the ranking of the website in the search engine results will rise, and it will also drive the PA value of some pages to rise.
In addition, if the PA value of one or some pages increases, it will also increase the weight of this website and increase the DA value of the website.
③ DA and PA values are not fixed. Algorithm updates will lead to value fluctuations; outdated web content, quality degradation, loss of external links, and the rise of competitors, etc., will also lead to fluctuations in PA and DA.
How to improve the DA and PA value of the website?
Increase DA value: increase the number of relevant external links of the website
Improve PA value: improve the quality of external links, pursue more relevant links from high-weight websites, and pay attention to the diversification of link forms and types…
How to check the DA and PA values of a website/page?
Tool ① MozBar (free)
MozBar is an easy-to-use browser add-on for Google and Firefox browsers.

It can be seen that Mozbar gives the DA value (domain name authority) of the website and the PA value (web page authority) of the homepage.

It can also help you view the DA and PA values of all search result websites/pages directly in the search results. Help you research competitors better and easier~

[Supplement: We mentioned MozRank and MozTrust earlier,
In fact, these two algorithms are based on the links of MOZ. The former mainly depends on the number of links (external links) pointing to the website, and the latter mainly depends on the trustworthiness of the source website of the external links.
In order to facilitate everyone’s understanding, the official explanation of Moz is given below. If you are interested, you can take a look, and I won’t introduce it in detail here.

The second category of indicators: UR and DR
This is primarily the evaluation metric for the Ahrefs tool.
Friends who have used the Ahrefs external link analysis tool should know that there are two values of UR and DR in the analysis it gives. As shown below:
What do UR and DR mean?
UR:
The full name is URL Rating, that is, URL rating.
It shows the strength of a target URL’s backlink profile and the likelihood that this URL will rank well in Google.
UR scores range from 1 to 100, with higher scores being stronger. And it is much more difficult to raise the UR value from 70 to 80 than from 20 to 30.
DR:
The full name is Domain Rating, that is, domain name rating.
It reflects the quality of a given website’s overall backlink profile.
DR scores range from 1 to 100, with higher scores being stronger.
The above statement is roughly the official explanation, is it not understood yet?
In fact, in layman’s terms:
UR mainly depends on the number of external links;
DR mainly depends on the quality of external links. If the external links are mostly from high-authority websites, such as some websites with suffixes such as .edu .gov and other domain name weights, then the DR value of this website will be high.
In addition, Ahrefs also gives an indicator called “Ahrefs Rank”.
Ahrefs Rank is a ranking made by Ahrefs based on the quantity and quality of backlinks of all websites. Indicates the overall situation of the quantity and quality of a website’s backlinks compared to other websites. , the #1 ranking site is a site with a good backlink profile.
The third category of indicators: Alexa Traffic Rank and Semrush Rank:
Alexa Traffic Rank:
Alexa’s website ranking is based on the traffic data of users in Alexa’s global database within 3 months.
The ranking of the website is comprehensively measured based on the number of Unique Visitors and Pageviews. The website with a high number of comprehensive rankings ranks first.
Generally speaking, the higher the ranking, the better the website and the higher the authority.
Alexa ranking query link: https://www.alexa.cn/, as shown below:
SEMrush Rank:
Link: https://www.semrush.com/info/rank.html
This is a ranking report provided by the Senrush tool. The ranking report contains the top 100,000 domain names in the SEMrush database.
This ranking is based on the site’s search terms and estimated traffic from search.
The higher the ranking, the higher the website traffic, the better the website, the higher the weight, and the more intense the competition.
(Note: Semrush does not yet support querying the ranking of a specific website, but supports data export)
We can comprehensively use Alexa Traffic Rank and SEMrush Rank reports to determine the quality of the website and provide direction for our external link building.
(Because if you have a lot of external links of high-quality websites, then you are not far from high-quality)
The fourth category of indicators: Trust Flow and Citation Flow
These are the two metrics Majestic uses to judge a website.
Trust Flow:
It can be translated as trust degree, which represents link quality, that is, link quality.
Its value is determined by the total number of clicks of all high-quality external links of this domain name or page.
In other words, if you want to have a high Trust Flow value, first of all, the source websites of your website/page’s external links must be powerful and trustworthy; secondly, the incoming links you make on these high-weight websites must be clicked, and the more clicks The higher the value, the higher your Trust Flow value.
Citation Flow:
Can be translated as citations, that is, the number of times your website/page is cited.
That is, the number of external links of your website/page. The more external links, the higher the Citation Flow value.
A website with high values of Trust Flow and Citation Flow is definitely a good website with high weight.
Because it not only has many external links but also high-quality and authentic external links.

Conclusion:
All indicators and judgment methods are just an assessment, an estimation.
So let’s not think that there is any indicator that can help us accurately measure the weight and quality of a certain website or webpage.
When using these indicators comprehensively, we still need to observe the website, webpage, look at its website design, look at its content quality, look at its website structure, these are very easy and necessary things!
Even if some low-quality websites can escape the eyes of the algorithm, they can’t escape your eyes!
In addition, each indicator mentioned above, each method has its own measurement standards and specific algorithms, each indicator is unique, and can be mixed but must not be confused.
